English Translation:
“But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.“_ Psalms.1:2
Explanation:
This opening verse of Psalm 1 sets the stage for a powerful comparison between two paths: the one of the righteous who find joy and purpose in God’s word, and the one of the wicked who turn away from it. For those who embrace God’s law, meditating on it day and night becomes a source of constant pleasure and guidance.
King David, the author of Psalm 1, himself experienced both the challenges and blessings of living by God’s law. Through this verse, he encourages us to embrace God’s word as a source of comfort, wisdom, and direction on our own journeys. By making regular time for reflection and meditation on scripture, we can cultivate a deeper connection with the divine and discover true joy in serving God.
